Schwarzenegger urges court to allow building sale
Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a last-minute plea to the California Supreme Court to allow the sale of state office buildings to proceed.

Administration attorneys have filed an emergency petition asking the high court to lift a stay by Thursday.

The petition, filed Monday, says "three disgruntled taxpayers" could thwart the will of the Legislature and deny the state $1.2 billion in revenue. It warned that unless the state can close escrow before the end of the year, "the sale may well disappear forever."

An appeals court has stalled the sale of 24 state buildings to private investors while it reviews the deal.

the gig he stole is up. What a vain, cigar smoking, hummer hoarding, hypocrite in the extreme, reprehensible excuse for a human being. Children sit in crumbling overcrowded schools with shortages of everything needed for education and this man can't be bothered to create a fair tax structure (ie taxing the wealthy) for the state. Instead, he sells off the precious assets of the public. I could continue my rant, but I'm getting toooo mad!!!!

p.s. there ought to be a malpractice law for politicians

5. I wish I understood the CA situation more
All the right wingers love to throw out how it's been going down since before Arnold and that liberalism is to blame. What is the real problem and what are they not doing to fix it that they should, instead of doing stuff like selling property?
