(Alaska) Supreme Court rules against Miller
Source: Anchorage Daily News

The Alaska Supreme Court today ruled against Joe Miller on all counts, a decision that leaves his challenge of Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s victory on life support.

“There are no remaining issues raised by Miller that prevent this election from being certified,” the Supreme Court declared in its 24-page ruling.

Miller’s last chance is in federal court. U.S. District Court Judge Ralph Beistline is giving Miller 48 hours to argue that the federal courts should take up any remaining constitutional issues.

Beistline has blocked the state from certifying Murkowski as the winner of the Senate race to allow the court issues to be settled. Beistline said he will decide “as soon as possible” on lifting his block following the Alaska Supreme Court ruling.

I read an article earlier today where Senator Murkowski said she thought there wouldn't be a ruling until after Christmas.

Well - Merry Christmas Senator Lisa Murkowski :)

2. Ba bye knucklehead tea bagger!
Source TPM: "In a crippling setback for Joe Miller, the Alaska Supreme Court has ruled against him in his opposition to Sen. Lisa Murkowski's apparent Senate win, saying there are "no remaining issues raised by Miller that prevent this election from being certified."

3. I hate to say it but....
but - we owe Palin and the Teabaggers a 'tiny' thank you for backing Joe Miller.
It really made Lisa Murkowski mad as hell at the GOP and ever since the election she has been voting now with the senate democrats quite often :)

Lisa voted yes on the repeal of DADT, The START Treaty, and several other important bills this week.
There was an article somewhere earlier today that said Murkowski has voted on more dem bills in the past week than Collins, Snowe, or Scott Brown did - I can't remember where I saw the article at ;( It proabably was TPM, Politico, CNN, or HuffingtonPost.

4. i hope Murkowski remains an independent
I know she'll vote with the Republicans most of the time, but it would give them something to squirm about. They can't take her for granted anymore.

9. I found the article referred to in comment #3 - here it is below
Republicans Have Their Lieberman, And You Can Thank The Tea Party

SNIP

Quick quiz — only one Republican senator has sided with Democrats on DADT repeal, the tax deal, New START cloture, and the DREAM Act in the lame-duck session. Who was it?

The obvious guesses would likely be Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), Susan Collins (R-Maine), or Scott Brown (R-Mass.). But the truth is a little further north.

Now no one expects Lisa Murkowski to become a Democrat, but she clearly feels reduced loyalty to the GOP. Joe Miller has managed to take a reliably Republican vote and turn her into something both parties hate, a “maverick.” In addition to the Senate seats in Delaware, Nevada, and Colorado, the Democrats may owe the Tea Party thanks for a crossover vote from one of the reddest states in the country.

What would Sarah do?

Okay, bad example. But are you going to let a bunch of activist judges tell you what the law says? Now is not the time to walk away. That seat is YOURS, Joe. Fight Joe, Fight!

Joe Miller can piss right off.

16. What a waste of resources this was. I suppose I could have understood if it had been close,
but he had many, many fewer votes than Murkowski.
