House targeted in pipe bomb attack (Ireland)
Source: Belfast Telegraph

One pipe bomb exploded and a second was made safe after a house in Co Limerick was targeted on Tuesday morning.
The device damaged the front door of the property at Ballywilliam in Rathkeale when it exploded shortly before 4.30am.

No-one was injured in the blast.

When gardai arrived at the scene a second improvised explosive device was discovered outside and the area was evacuated.

(snip)

It was the 198th time one of the army's bomb disposal teams was called out this year. Of those 48 devices were viable.

FYI "gardai" are the Irish constabulary. A touch less than one "viable" bomb per week. In 2010.
