RNC faces $20 million debt in 2011
Source: Washington Times

The next chairman of the Republican National Committee will face a money-raising challenge of historic proportions.

The unreleased official budget of the RNC reveals that the Republican party's national governing body and premier fund-raising apparatus begins the 2011-2012 presidential election cycle more than $20 million in the hole.

"A record for any year in the past 30 years," RNC chairman candidate and former Deputy U.S. Transportation Secretary Maria Cino told The Washington Times.

Of course, it helps to have corporations able to pay you unlimited ammounts to purchase your services.

Keep in mind, though, that some Tea Party supporters also are dismissive of the GOP because of news like this and Bush's shopping spree through the 2000s paid for by a Chinese credit card.

2. doesn't matter at all now that corporations can donate freely.
I expect the GOP to do very well in the current payola-style system. They always put out for the corporations and in the last election cycle the corporations put out for them in a HUGE way.
