Christmas pay taken away By Donna Goodison

A Wakefield company that makes corrugated cardboard boxes is allegedly playing Scrooge with its workers’ holiday pay.

Union officials say Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. is docking Christmas and Christmas Eve pay for workers who failed to show up during last Monday’s Nor’easter.

The company also docked one day’s holiday pay for workers who came to the plant during the storm but arrived late, according to the Boston Newspaper Printing Pressmen’s Union No. 3.

“It’s kind of disgusting that the company would penalize people so harshly,” union local President Martin Callaghan said. “As far as we know, there was no pressing need at the plant for the employees.”

1. No need for workers.

That has been said before, it is a justification used in population reduction. Useless eaters concept. Although it requires believing the economy comes first, and ignores contributions to society that are found in working homes.

It is why all programs of population control lead to people that decide to do that, to do it based on their own ideas of what is best, and those are the worst types of people that would do that, so it never works out well.
