Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was a target of Sarah Palin, but is a moderate, gun-owning Democrat

The third-generation Arizonan took a hard stance on illegal immigration and pushed for a larger National Guard presence to protect the border with Mexico.

On her campaign website, she touts strong support of the Second Amendment and cites a court filing she made to the Supreme Court, urging the justices to uphold a lower court's ruling that overturned a hand-gun ban in Washington, D.C.

But her backing of President Obama's health care reform made her a popular target of conservative talking head Sarah Palin and Tea Party members during the 2010 election. On her Facebook page last spring, Palin posted a U.S. map with crosshairs of a rifle scope over the districts repped by Giffords and 19 other Democrats.

In March, after the Health Care reform bill passed, vandals broke the door of her district office - one of several attacks against Democrats following the vote.

Edited on Sat Jan-08-11 05:58 PM by harvey007
Giffords was pro-gun, pro-border control - a blue dog Democrat in a conservative district.

But she didn't reveal where she stood on all the issues....

25. Take It Back To The Guns Forum, Where Such Insensitivity Is Appreciated.

Yet another Democratic politician has taken a bullet in the head. Isn't that enough for a judgmental "pro-RKBA Democrat" such as yourself?

Edited on Sat Jan-08-11 06:09 PM by xchrom
And portrayed the same in the media.

Giffords and say, myself, have little political resemblance -
But that makes little difference with the current state
Of corporate propaganda.

Palin posted a U.S. map with crosshairs of a rifle scope over the districts and NAMED Gabby Giffords by name.
People are not going to forget about that.

13. It is a major disgrace that in America we have a supposed "news" network that
pays a politician who posts on her Twitter page "don't retreat, RELOAD!"

Disgraceful network, and they all know what she posted, and don't care.

if the conservanazis continue on thei path of continuing to demonize Democrats, Progressives, Liberals and Republicans who don't back the teabaggin' kkkluckers and conservanazi ideology.

This might be the beginning of a period in our history. The conservanazis neeed to be silenced on mour public airwaves.
