Pima County Dem Chair: Time Will Prove Loughner To Be A Right-Winger
Source: Talking Points Memo

TUCSON, AZ -- Conservatives gloating about the biography of the suspected shooter of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) will eat their words in the end, according to the chair of the Pima County Democratic Party.

"Here's what I think you're going to find," Jeff Rogers told me in an interview today. "I think you're going to find that he was (a conservative)."

"I think we'll find a treasure trove of stuff from his computer," he told me. "How much of that we're going to get from law enforcement and know about and when? I don't know. But I'm betting you'll see a fair amount of that."

Rogers told me he's closely read Loughner's available internet postings and said that they suggest a rightward slant.

1. perhaps... we'll see...
I'd surely like to see DUers stop the self-flagellation for our discussion of the POSSIBLE role of RW hate talk.... The violence that we have seen the past two years is not confined to this one horrific incident. Whether there is a correlation in this incident or not, the RW hate radio, the overt threats made by Palin, Beck, and others and the very clear threat language of the teabaggers HAS been shown to be linked to other incidents--fortunately less violent.

I'm amazed that 24 hours of RW spin that has attempted to shame the Left as though we were somehow responsible for what happened has seemed to be working. I have seen at least two threads where DUers have bemoaned the horrible climate of blame towards Palin and others on this forum. Good God. :eyes:

2. Remember the RW"s penchant for sticking to the original talking points.
It's not likely they will change their minds based on facts
that they temselves did not create..

3. Yea, like they accepted there were no WMDs in Iraq and Iraq wasn't involved in 9/11.

Or Obama was born in the USA.

They've heard what they want to hear and that's how it will always be. But, the good Sheriff and others just need to keep telling the truth. Maybe their offspring -- inbred as they may be -- will see the truth.

4. Did you notice the Pima GOP chair also had an article?
He calls on Obama to "Stop the Blame."

Concerning the Dem Chair he had this to say: "Miller said Rogers' talk is, at best, counterproductive.

'He just doesn't get it,' Miller told me, referring to Rogers. 'Every time he continues to cast blame he's just fomenting anger.'

Another gem from this guy: "I have always said that it is proper to focus on policy instead of the demonization of the individual," he said.

Isn't it interesting that they can incite violence against our side to the point where people get killed, but we are the ones who are "fomenting anger" if we hold them accountable? That's some convoluted thinking!
