Delay: I was Tried in "Most Liberal County" in U.S.
Source: CBS News

Former Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said today that he's headed to jail not because he is guilty of any wrongdoing, but because of the politicization of his trial.

"I was tried in the most liberal county in the state of Texas; indeed, in the United States," DeLay said on NBC's "Today" Show. "This is a political campaign."

While people of honor are trying to unite America,
Delay and the RepubliCronies are trying to fracture America
so they can continue to exploit the people...

62. Yup!
You know liberal jurists just can't view the facts of the case and make a judgement on those facts. Didn't Delay's attorney question potential jurists and accept those who actually served before hand? And by the way, most counties in CA are far more liberal than the one in Texas where Delay for tried.

and from what I hear-a heavily GOP jury. He broke the law plain and simple. It is not like Texas has a lot of campaign laws and he clearly broke even those two.

Believe me, he got all kinds of breaks, more so than most and he STILL was found guilty. Just put a fork in it Tom.

Why did The Toady Show give more time to that crooked scumbag than they did to the President's memorial speech? I turned it off when the interview started, and couldn't believe it when they were still at it several minutes later when I turned it back on for the local news. They should not have had him on PERIOD.

I agree that Travis County in general is quite liberal... however, it far from being the most liberal county in the United States. Having lived in numerous locales, I can affirmatively state that it's hardly the "most liberal", but I do love that Austin lifestyle.

he shouldn't have villified and slammed his opponents with smears and untruths for his entire career. They are less likely to give you the benefit of the doubt in close cases. However, this wasn't even close and he would have been convicted in Orange County California or my state for his behavior.

Poor guy, another victim of the vast left-wing conspiracy and deserving of pity. :sarcasm:
