Ex-Candidate Charged With Making Threats in Ind.
Source: Associated Press

By CHARLES WILSON, Associated Press Charles Wilson, Associated Press – 1 hr 42 mins ago

INDIANAPOLIS – An Indiana woman who ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Congress last year was being held Saturday on charges she made threats against judges and other officials on her Facebook account.

Morgan County Prosecutor Steve Sonnega — who said he was among those targeted — said he decided to move quickly after discovering the threats in part due to last week's shootings in Arizona that wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed six others.

"I think the Arizona situation drove more to the sense of urgency," Sonnega told The Associated Press.

Cheryl Allen, 51, of Martinsville was being held on $100,000 bond Saturday in a jail in her hometown, about 28 miles south of Indianapolis. State police arrested her on eight felony counts of intimidation on Thursday, the same day authorities discovered the postings, which were apparently published on her page three days earlier.

4. Good! This is an appropriate response, look at what this woman
is comfortable stating: "Someday Boooooom while your setting in your offices," read a second. "And you know I won't even be the one pulling the trigger," said another.

I can't wait to see who is the alleged "lefty" equivalent to this asshole...ahem.

5. On the positive side: once she is awarded her inevitable felony conviction,
her future in politics will be, ahem, limited.

6. Let's not jump to conclusions. Criminal records probably don't matter to nutty right wing voters
You need to remember that what is sensical for most of Americans is completely non-sensical for tea baggers and other Rethuglican voters (and vice versa). This might be enough to win her some more votes the next time she runs for election, be it mayor state legislator or, gulp, federal office.

13. "Criminal records probably don't matter to nutty right wing voters"
....you might be right...

....being imprisoned for making threats against government officials may be deemed a badge-of-honor (and worthy of support) by many baggers....

....on the other hand, isn't sending a puke to prison always a good thing?

10. Fascist Attitude is the Common Link
These folks all assume they are the ones in sole possession of the truth and therefore give themselves the authoritarian right to use force impose it on others. That is the common link between all these right wing nuts. It is also why the Christian fundy Taliban fall into this camp, because it is part of imposing their world view on others.

BTW, these ignorant delusional fools don't know enough to know what they are talking about.

The reason these nut cases (see Beck et al) accuse the left of simultaneously being Communist and Fascist is because the real word they are seeking is 'Authoritarian', which is the only common element between these mutually exclusive ideologies.

18. you give them too much credit
People like Beck can only use such words because they're insults - nothing more and nothing less. They know that their audience doesn't know the real meaning (if they themselves do, which I doubt), but know that they were raised to only know that those were bad things; the enemy.

11. Teabaggers will be screaming about her 1st Amendment rights.
Now, how about Glenn Beck who has comments on his blog by his followers threatening the life of Professor Frances Fox Piven, a woman he has been obsessing over for months now, blaming her for every perceived wrong the right has been subjected to in this country.

Here is a sampling of some of those comments which were not removed from the site:

Why is Glenn Beck obsessively targeting Francis Fox Piven?

AMY GOODMAN: On December 31st, Glenn Beck’s website, "The Blaze," published an article titled "Frances Fox Piven Rings in the New Year by Calling for Violent Revolution." In response to that article, several readers posted direct death threats to Piven. A user named JST1425 wrote, quote, "be very careful what you ask for honey... As I mentioned in previous posts…ONE SHOT…ONE KILL! 'We The People' will need to stand up for what is right…a few well placed marksmen with high powered rifles…then there would not be any violence," unquote.

User name SUPERWRENCH4 wrote, quote, "Somebody tell Frances I have 5000 roundas ready and I’ll give My life to take Our freedom back. Taking Her life and any who would enslave My children and grandchildren and call for violence should meet their demise as They wish. George Washington didn’t use His freedom of speech to defeat the British, He shot them," unquote.

Another reader wrote on Glenn Beck’s website, quote, "We should blowup Piven’s office and home. And while at it. Keel haul Bernardine Dohrn under one of her freedom ships and blow up Bill Ayers’ house cars and anywhere he can be found," unquote.

And a user who goes by the name GREEN_MANALISHI wrote, quote, "I’m all for violence and change Francis, where do your loved ones live?" unquote.

Despite the overt threats, Glenn Beck has not removed any of the messages from his site, even though readers of "The Blaze" are encouraged to highlight troublesome posts.

I think the Professor needs to contact the police and ask that Beck do something about his violent followers who appear to be prepared, like the last fan of his, Byron Williams who set to kill ACLU and Tide Foundations 'liberals on his behalf, to take action on his behalf against her.

15. Once again
What freedom is she having a problem with? What tyranny is it, of which they speak? Is it sick people who can't get health care? Is it the drug war, attacking people? Is it the exportation of Americans' jobs? Or is it that she's paying a lot in taxes? What liberty has anyone taken?

Why is it we never get a reporting on whether these people are rich, or just the dumbass bootlicking idiot poor people who are deluded into getting crazy for the rich Dick Armey types that incite them into violence.

And this whole name, hell the Tea Party was about taxation without representation. The people didn't get to vote!! These Tea Baggers, as far as I know, do get to vote. Perhaps it's the "I didn't get my way and I'm going to throw a tantrum and run around shooting people," party. Used the new House's naming convention.

I just get tired of them throwing around words that people give their own subjective positive or negative meanings to, without really defining exactly what liberty, tyranny, or freedom it is of which they speak? It's like America, or we, us, our, they, them, those, all very subjective pronouns and nouns. I know my America is a place that doesn't export jobs, puts a tariff in place to keep jobs here, or bring them back, if we've got huge unemployment. But to others, it is a place where they are trying to bring in new American royalty, and the serfs and slaves to go along with them, the clowns, the court jesters, the jokers and such too. (see: reality television)

16. She's delusional. And indoctrinated. But she's not worried about
the poor and the elderly. She most likely doesn't want to taxes that might help anyone else and cannot even imagine what kind of country she would be living in if she had her way.

I hope this scares the rest of them from threatening people, because up to now, if anyone even suggested arresting these people when they hurl their violent invectives at others, even here, they are defended and we are told that the the 1st Amendment covers everything including threats. This should demonstrate that the only reason why no one has been arrested for the violent rhetoric is because it was coming from the right and for some reason, they are a protected species in this country. Palin, Beck et al can incite people to kill, and even when we see proof of it, such as the would be killer of liberals at the ACLU & Tide Foundation, it is ignored.
