Police: Teen died at MMU of self-inflicted gunshot wound (high school suicide)

A Vermont teenager is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound he suffered inside a school building.

Police were called to Mount Mansfield Union High School in Jericho at 8:15 this morning after a boy was found unresponsive in a bathroom.

The boy has been identified as 15-year-old Connor Menning of Huntington. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

That is 3 kids since Saturday. This is becoming a real epidemic.

7. If this is an example of a mass-shooting...
at schools or otherwise, it is not an epidemic. As sad as this event is, there have not been that many "mass shootings," considering the population.

You're just aware of three. It's very sad, and happens all the time. Rarely in the schools, though...

12. School still in session. If that were the schools in this area they would
be dealing with the emotions of the classmates by bringing in professionals to talk about it. As to why teen suicides are kept silent - they often lead to more suicides. Copycat type events.
