US supports Chavez's request to intercept drug planes

The US official said that the measure should be adopted by other countries in the region to stop the outflow of drugs from Colombia
Western Hemisphere

US drug czar Gil Kerlikowske on Tuesday in Colombia stressed Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez's recent announcement that Caracas will intercept any drug traffic aircraft overflying Venezuelan territory.

"Venezuela has expressed clearly its support for curbing drug trafficking by air," said Kerlikowske upon the beginning of his three-day visit to Colombia, DPA reported.

The US official added that the measure should be adopted by other countries in the region to stop the outflow of drugs from Colombia.

1. Strange headline. Venezuela controls its own air space.
There's no "request" needed.

2. Gil Kerlikowske is a fucking neanderthal asswipe.
Good luck with your phony drug wars, asswipe. It never worked and it never will.

Legalize all drugs! Problem fucking solved.

If you want to do something positive about drugs, give us back our Quaaludes, you fucking asswipe.

5. Exactly.
If the country follows its own inclinations for the benefit of its own people, then that's against our foreign policy. Because such a position invariably will run counter to U.S. business interests. Which is the only important thing for them to consider. Obviously.

- It's been this way since the announcement of the Monroe Doctrine -- where we told the world that "everything over here R belong to US!"

6. yep. a roman poet once wrote: "fear the greeks, when they come bearing gifts".
unfortunately, native americans didn't have access to the latin classics. they learned this the hard way; too late. as did a bunch of others. and the monroe doctrine you mentioned, appears to have been extended planet-wide, without any fanfare. let's hope nations are not as naive now, as those left in the wake of pax-americana.
