Moore student arrested with handgun

A Moore High School student was arrested about 10:30 a.m. today after a police officer said he saw him with a 9 mm handgun.

Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said an off-duty Moore police officer working security at the school spotted the student with the gun in plain sight. The officer said the student was near the football stadium, looking for other students who were smoking.

The student was taken to a juvenile detention center. There were no injuries. The name of the student will not be released because he is a minor.
