HOUSTON -- Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has arrived at a Houston hospital where she'll begin physical therapy after being gravely wounded in an assassination attempt.

Giffords still hasn't spoken since a gunman shot her and 18 other people Jan. 8 as she met with constituents outside a grocery store in Tucson. Six died. All survivors other than Giffords have been released from hospitals.

Giffords will be evaluated the ICU at Texas Medical Center and then taken to TIRR Memorial Hermann hospital, which is in the complex. U.S. Capitol police have set up extra security measures at the facility.

3. Interesting motorcade!

Who are the guys in the silver rockets (my own name for their motorcycles) trailing American flags? Not sure if they're police. I don't think they are. But the official motorcade is quite hefty anyway.

I have to say that I have glad/sad mixed emotions about the need for such heavy police protection for one of our representatives on her way to a medical facility. Of course, they had to do it. But still....

4. A group of VFW motorcycle riders

They volunteered to escort the ambulance to the base. The congresswoman rode with this group in May 2009 when they escorted the remains of Civil War-era veterans from Tucson to Sierra Vista.
