US Man Accused Of Smuggling Guns Into UK

An American man has been accused of smuggling 80 handguns into Britain on passenger flights from the US - sparking a security alert.

Steven Greenoe, 37, was arrested after packing weapons in his hold luggage, it is claimed.

The American had been stopped by airport security staff at least once before, allegedly after "multiple firearms" were found in his suitcases, the paper said.

But he was able to talk his way onto a flight from US city Atlanta to Manchester, in northern England, saying the guns were samples, it is claimed.

US court papers obtained by The Times said Greenoe is suspected of passing the weapons onto criminal contacts in the UK.
