John Cornyn's Office Mailed Suspicious Packages
Source: Huffington Post

After two suspicious packages were delivered to Sen. John Cornyn's (R-Texas) offices in the Dallas area on Wednesday, local station CBS 11 reports that bomb squad technicians detonated the two devices.

According to the Texas-based outlet, the office space was evacuated after the mail arrived.

Shortly thereafter, CBS11 said that no explosive or incendiary materials were discovered in the packages.

1. This is either a lie, or a
Black Flag operation. Our side would not do anything like this.

9. Karl Rove even had his own office bugged in Texas once.
Historically Democrats DON'T do what Republicans have done. Never.

Gotta be a Republican-made hoax. Pathetic. Just like the John McCain campaign worker who claimed some black person carved that "B" on her face which was written backwards, using a mirror.

13. He then called in the Texas Rangers and not the Austin PD.
It's always news when the Rangers are involved.

The bug was from Radio Shack and had a battery life of less than 1/2 hour (like maybe 10 minutes).

The headlines screamed "Listening Device Found in Bush Campaign Headquarters".

He also mailed a taped debate prep session to a Dem staffer in Austin and prosecuted her for turning it over to Ann Richards' people.

I can only dream about having a few minutes alone with him.

11. The Weathermen would call in bomb threats in time to evacuate
The left does mostly crimes against property, not crimes against people.

The right does crimes against people, exclusively. They don't want to destroy facilities or files. They put in shrapnel to destroy people.

Chances are some fan in Texas just baked him a batch of nice cookies. Since wingers know who and what other wingers are, they got paranoid and the cops obligingly blew it up.

19. Common practice to detonate "suspicious" packages.
It's safer for the bomb squad.

8. From the headline/subject line I thought Cornyn was
sending out another of his constituent mailings. They are all suspicious as far as I am concerned. I should call the bomb squad every time I get one.

16. Latest Breaking Non-News
Found this in the HuffPost comments:

"Deputy Police Chief Mark Young says officers evacuated the 10th and 11th floor, the top two floors of the sprawling office building, as bomb experts from the Texas Department of Public Safety examined the contents of the 14-inch-long tan box. They deemed the tapes and films inside posed no threat, but Young said they were taken to a nearby vacant lot and blown up anyway.

Young said no arrests have been made, but the investigation continues."

Sounds like the bomb squad like their work. Blow it up first, ask questions later.
