Police: Man Says Gregoire ‘Should Be Burned At Stake’
Internet-Based Threat Traced In Six Hours

GRAHAM, Wash. -- Detectives from the Washington State Patrol arrested a Graham man on Tuesday accused of making threats over the Internet to Gov. Chris Gregoire.

Police said the threat arrived at the governor’s office about 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday. The WSP said it took detectives about six hours to trace the Internet threat and arrest the man.

According to probable cause documents, Locke was angry that DSHS benefits would be reduced.

One stated: "I hope you have the opportunity to see one of your family members raped and murdered by a sexual predator." A second said: "You should be burned at the stake like any heretic." A third email said: "Gregoire must die."
