The head of a Hispanic Republican group filed legal papers Thursday seeking to recall Senate President Russell Pearce.

The petition, filed by Dee Dee Blase, says Pearce should be ousted from his office because of his "overt disdain for the United States Constitution." It says that is "indicative of his inability to govern as prescribed."

Blase, who could not immediately be reached for comment, lists a post office box in Scottsdale as her address. But a spokesman for the Secretary of State's Office said there is no requirement for recall organizers to live in the same Mesa district that Pearce represents.

It is a requirement, though, that all of the signatures come from district residents.
