Muslim Brotherhood urges Iraqis to back insurgents
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L0872473.htm

CAIRO, April 8 (Reuters) - Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, one of the most influential Islamist groups in the Middle East, called on all Iraqis on Thursday to rally round resistance to U.S. forces until they defeat the occupation.

"We hail Iraqi leaders who have rejected the occupation and call on the whole Iraqi people... to form a single front against the occupation, embrace the heroic resistance and strengthen the fabric of national unity until the occupation is defeated," the organisation said in a written statement.

It said Arab and Muslim governments and peoples should provide the Iraqi insurgents with material, moral, political and economic support. "This is the least of the duties of Islam," the statement said.

The Muslim Brotherhood, which is illegal in Egypt but tolerated within limits, said it was reminding the Iraqi insurgents to observe Islamic rules and not allow anyone to mutilate corpses or display them in public.

1. In other words don't mutilate the Crusaders
But its OK to kill them. Fresh. </unreal>

I would also guess that the average Arab on the street all over the mid-East is loving to see the Great Satan getting its ass kicked.

2. The whole situation is going from worse to terrible
We are so screwed.

Sure, we can continue to inflict high casualty numbers, but as long as the Iraqi citizens see it as a fight against evil occupiers, they will continue to come at us. I am reminded of that dreadful 1980s era movie, Red Dawn, where the reverse was presented. The US citizens were shown to be very determined in their resistance to outside invaders.

Although a movie, Red Dawn was accurate in its display of the effects of patriotism and love of homeland when confronted with hostile occupation.

3. Interesting contradiction
The Egypt branch backs the resistance, but Iraq's branch sits on the puppet Governing Council.
