Belinda Stronach 'not a career politician': dad
Last Updated Thu, 08 Apr 2004 7:55:16
TORONTO - The chair of Magna International Inc. has told an Austrian newspaper that his daughter, Belinda Stronach, will return to the business world within five to 10 years because she is "not a career politician."

Austrian-born entrepreneur Frank Stronach, 71, was speaking in an interview with Wirtschafts Blatt. "My daughter will serve her country and then come back to the company since she is not a career politician," he predicted.

Belinda Stronach could not be reached for comment.

Clearly a massive surprise, that.

1. Oh, yeah, massive
She was the very definition of a political dilettante and a political junkie. I could never tell where she was coming from ideologically. I think she just likes being near political types rather than being one.
She'll serve her one term and move on.

8. "Five to 10 years"? In this economy, that *IS* a "career"...
Somebody who stays in a given job for 10 years these days should consider that to be their career. Most people have to "retrain" and re-invent themselves after only 3-4 years in a given field.
Unless you're a doctor or lawyer.

Or a politician.
