3. Cheney is supposed to go on his tour of Asia tomorrow
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 11:47 AM by bobthedrummer
and is scheduled to visit S.Korea, Japan and China, partly to pump up support for the war on terrorism.
He cancelled this tour last year because of Iraq.
If he does go it should prove to be interesting indeed.

6. Missionaries should not be allowed in Iraq.
This is ludicrous. Bush calls for "crusade" and then Christian missionaries pour into Iraq. It's criminal. It's a violation of sovereingty.

8. why would they be in Iraq
Iraq already has several types of christian groups including Methodists. Unless the missionaries are southern baptists and want all the christians to convert to the baptist version of christianity?

9. Because Korean Christians are full-on Zealots.
That's right, Zealots with a capital Z. South Korea has the second-argest number of missionaries operating in the world (after the US), despite the very recent introduction to Christianity. There is a church here with the largest congregation in the world. Now, while I am glad that the individuals in question came to no harm, I cannot help but condemn them for stupidity.

Now, obviously, not every Korean Christian is like this (I would say not even the majority). My brother-in-law (who is a Korean Christian) has never mentioned to Christianity to me once in the 5 years I've been married. But the ones that are, they're as bad as the Pat Robertsons, and Jimmy Swaggarts.
