Ammonium nitrate goes missing in Australia
Sydney - More than 3,5 tons of the fertiliser ammonium nitrate, a chemical used by terrorists for making bombs, has gone missing from an Adelaide warehouse.

The 47 bags were discovered missing late in March during a routine audit of a transport company, news reports said on Thursday.

Half a ton of ammonium nitrate was recently seized by police in Britain and members of a suspected terror group arrested.

1. That is A LOT of ammonium nitrate . .
Someone with know how can make one hell of a bomb with that much ammonium nitrate. (Look at Oklahoma City . . . only 2 tons used there if I recall correctly).

Look at the bombing of the Army Math building in Madison in '70(I think), that was around 1 ton used there (or so says a quick google search).

That's A LOT of ammonium nitrate.

2. Or fertilize a lot of wheat
Let's not get crazy here. Yeah it might be destined for a bomb but OTOH maybe someone just wanted some free fertilizer - or more likely, someone screwed up and didn't account for a shipment.

3. Governments always harass the wrong people over the wrong things.
Tons of ammonium nitrate go missing in Australia; tons of explosives materials go missing in Spain before the Madrid bombing. Other bomb-making material can be purchased here and there and in between without raising suspicion. And yet, if you go to buy cough medicine with codeine in it, you have to stand at the pharmacy counter several minutes while every pharmacy tech validates the quantity on hand and the amount going out. And then you have to sign for it -- twice!

The point of all this is that law authorities must tighten up on all of this sloppy storage and inventory-keeping of potential bomb-making materials. And there should be criminal and civil penalties for those companies/personnel who don't adequately monitor and track this stuff.

4. I would agree. Where is the harassment for 'The Road to Sept. 11'?
Pakistan's then head of state, Benazir Bhutto, told the first President George Bush, "You are creating a Frankenstein." But the warnings never quite filtered down to the cops and G-men on the streets of New York.

Why aren't the questions going back to the real source King George I? Why aren't the media and the politicians asking these questions?

This is an 'official main stream report' that has been yanked off the mainstream websites and archives.
