Gas refinery explosion in NM

last week there was one of these in TX, following a warning from the FBI about terrorist attacks on refineries in TX...

GALLUP, N.M. (AP) - Two explosions followed by fire rocked a gasoline refinery Thursday, injuring four people, at least three of them seriously, officials said.

Smoke billowed from the east side of the Giant Industries refinery about 15 miles east of Gallup as rescue crews converged on the scene.

The cause of the explosions was not immediately known, said Yearly.

8. To be fair, it's all over the NM news right now
You can find it at http://www.kob.com or http://www.krqe.com or http://www.koat.com. There were two blasts, second one caught on video. It's not unusual for refineries and/or wells to blow around here, since most have a large propane compnent.

4. My hubby told me about it this morning
the story he read said that gas prices were going up 3cents.

5. Gas prices in CA up 6 cents in two days
Tuesday it was $2.07, Wednesday it was $2.11 and this morning it was $2.13.

7. Over $2.00 in Cali now?
I'm so glad I left. While our gas prices here are high, $1.75 at the lowest, it's not $2.00. And now that info is out that oil companies are raking in TWICE the profits in the West.. there has to be someone out there to challenge this!

10. Been over $2 since January
The high was around $2.20.

It's supposed to get up to $2.30 by the end of April.

12. Cheaper in the interior valley
Naturally it's going to be higher in the major cities.

It averages $2.25 in the Bay area.

6. When I was in high school..
and gas was $.45 a gallon and rising w/shortages everywhere, a teacher of mine said "when gas gets to $1.00 a gallon, you'll be able to get all you want. Maybe * wants $4 a gallon gas (while feigning outrage). Big oil IS in the WH.
