Bush to Rice: 'Great Job' Testifying
Bush to Rice: 'Great Job' Testifying
Thu Apr 8, 2004 02:34 PM ET

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - From his pickup truck on his Texas ranch, President Bush phoned his national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, on Thursday to congratulate her on her testimony before the 9/11 commission.

Bush and his wife, Laura, watched all of Rice's three hours of testimony on a television set at his ranch.

Afterward, "The president was in his truck on the ranch. He talked to Dr. Rice, told her he thought she did a great job," said White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan.

White House officials felt Rice gave a good accounting of what they feel were the administration's strong actions against terrorism taken before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and afterward.

Rice is expected to join the presidential entourage in Crawford for the Easter holiday this weekend.

This fucker is in a truck on his ranch, while the American soldiers he sent into harm's way squirm, wriggle, cry for their mothers, and die in excruciating pain???!!????

It must take a lot of balls, or no compassion whatsoever, to feel confident and cock-sure while asking young Americans to sacrifice their lives for your misguided re-election campaign, when you're the Commander in Chief and can't even face the 9/11 Commission all by yourself. These soldiers are dying alone, Mr. Bush. Alone. And you can't even stand before that commission without Unka Dick holding your bony, clammy hand.

He is a fucker. I never thought I could get angrier at him, but this little vacation of his, taken in the midst of a trying, horrific time for troops, their families, civilians, and the rest of us is beyond tasteless. There is simply no end to this man's stupidity, lack of compassion, and downright carelessness.

Enjoy your vacation, you fucker. Clear a little cedar, while mothers and spouses wait for a knock on their door.

20. The truth is....
he is no more a "cowboy", "rancher", "down home Texan" than the man in the moon. This is all carefully choreographed to make him look that way. He probably hauls away one branch for a photo op and then runs in the house to wash his hands and take a nap. And someone gave him a shiny new pickup truck to play with while he's on vacation just like his Mommy and Poppa gave him a Segway last year (which he fell off of like the dork that he is). And I would wager a bet that the "religious awakening" he had is all contrived also. It's all an image thing with his handlers. This guy is beyond heartless. He puts our country and our soldiers in harms way and then goes off to play. Despicable POS!

from being on the campaign trail, his most important and exhausting job at the moment, don't you see. Let the underlings run the presidency as they have been doing right along. Wolfowitz, Cheney and Rumsfeld will know what to do.

36. and he and the lump watched Condi testify together
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 07:58 PM by Marianne
so it was reported. My my, Laura certainly has grown and become an interested political observer eh? After Rice's testimony was over, Bush apparently went out to his shiny white, pick up truck to call Condi to express his pleasure with her testimony, and the lump went---where?

To her room for a drink or two, or to the pool for a swim and a drink or two, or to the dining room to give the chef his orders for the day?

She and he do not know and cannot imagine the slaughter and crimes and mayhem they have caused--he is a direct cause of the murders of ten thousand innocent civilians, by his lies to invade their country and kill them in their beds as they slept, while they posed no threat whatsoever to us.

The pictures of these bloodied babies and children are heart breaking.

May they both never sleep another wink in their lives for the crying and screaming they will hear in their ears in the darkness of their bedrooms. May they lie awake night after night hearing those babies cry and thos children scream and then go silent and the wails of thier mothers who will mourn for their lost children.

This man has got to be impeached or prosecuted for these crimes. He goes about adding more and more money to his election campaign chest. Apparently those who are contributing care not about human life , honor, integrity and love, either. We know what they do care about and why they see fit to donate enormous amounts of money to the puppet Bush and his president, Dick Cheney

10. Truck references
I like how it's part of the spin to keep throwing in "pickup" and "truck" to add to this fucking nit-wit's appeal to the "common folk."

That is quite telling of the "man" when he is congratulating condi on that kind of testimony.

13. Okay.. WHY does Rice have to be with Bush constantly?
Umm.. since Hughes gave up babysitting him, is it HER turn? I mean.. how often, in history, has the NAtl. Sec. Advisor spent holidays and weekends with the President??? Are they afraid that if something happens again, he'll be forced to oh... think for himself.. that would be disastrous! I worry that they are anticipating another attack soon.. he is never without a high-ranking official, even at the holidays.. unless he and Laura are into.. oh, never mind.

17. honestly, do you think the people really in charge want him around?
His handlers are probably happy to keep him at his ranch in Crawford playing in his truck. The last thing they need is his incompetence, stupidity and ineptness getting in the way when things are literally coming unraveled.

Vacations prior to 9/11.

Hangs out at the ranch while Iraq falls apart.

Weekends at the Camp.

Flys around to fundraisers and make-believe events.

He's an insult to the American work ethic.

21. The administration strong actions
before 9/11? That is not what I got out of Rice's testimony. She did a lot of editorializing in response to the questions. Must have been frustating to the panel as well as hearing her responses to many of the questions with : "best of my recollection", "unaware", "really don't remember" repeated several times. The tone of apologizing for the Bush lack of response to the clear warnings that something was in the wind before 9/11 was echoed by some of the questioning by Republican supporters. Disturbing that Rice is very reluctant to release to the public the PDB report that the panel has been privy to viewing. Lehman and Roemer did a good job in spite of the time constraints and her stretching out their pitifull 10 minutes of time allowed with lengthy excuses and editorializing. Didn't read Thompson's questioning, why bother. Analizing what little we were allowed to hear my conclusion is that Rice was derelict and incompetent in handling this most important job of US security. By her testimony it is clear that Bush was disinterested in hearing any of this, but then he has stated himself, he only makes decisions and relies on others to sort out the facts. Typical CEO, not presidential. Placing the blame on intelligence agencies is no excuse for her neglect in following up on the information she recieved from those agencies. She is under oath but if she were in a court of law under oath she would be held culpable of derelict of duty.

28. The opening speech byRatFace Rice
was blatant Bush Campaigning. In everything said by her after that contained repitition of phrases used by Rumsfeld, and others who have testified before the commission, as well as bits and pieces of "effective" (only to the sheeple) phrases from previous Bush, Rumsfeld and Ashcroft speeches.

The opening speech by Rice should have been denied to be able to happen right from the start by the commission. THere was NO NEED to qualify and/or campaign prior to answering quesions and providing testimony.

BTW...just wondering...with all the money this disgusting witch has made, who the hell does her hair in those ugly-do's, waxes her eyebrows into sinister arches...and why has this witch never had her teeth seen and taken care of by an orthodontist?
