TSA employee charged with helping drug dealers at airport
Source: Buffalo News

A federal Homeland Security employee who assisted in screening passengers at the Buffalo airport was arrested today on charges that she provided help to drug dealers at the airport.

The employee, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested late this morning by agents from the FBI and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

The woman is alleged to have assisted "known drug traffickers" with information and with getting through airport security checkpoint at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, two law enforcement officials said.

...

Authorities told The News the woman has been watched and followed for months, after federal agents became aware of her alleged ties to Buffalo drug dealers.

I can't believe the TSA left this person on the job for "months" after discovering their involvement in the drug trade, what other serious crimes are active TSA employees currently being investigated for?

The "thug caste" marches on...

1. So, if one did something illegal, we are to assume that they all do?
Is that basically it? Hmm...

I don't think so. There are good arguments to be made regarding the TSA. This is not one of those.

3. TSA employees are arrested more often than republicans in public washrooms
The agency is rotten to the core and who they hire is a huge part of that,

4. Oh, for pete's sake. Argue the issues with TSA, not the
personnel based on individual incidents. Have you any idea how many people work for the TSA?

How many have been arrested for some misdeeds? What percentage does that come to?

There are issues. Argue them. This is not one of them.

10. The incidents are troubling regardless of how many or how few times they occur
given the authority these folks are given.

9. Or it may be that it took that long for her to actually be SEEN helping...
...a trafficker past the barriers.

Simply being assosciated with known drug dealers is not usually grounds for summary dismissal or arrest.

An actual offense has to be committed before action can or should be taken. If in fact they were trying to bust up an entire operation, then it is possible and perfectly normal to allow operations to procede (hopefully under proper supervision).

That this appears to be more about a single TSA employee than any drugs that might have been moved, suggests to me that those she was allegeldly assisting were very small potatoes and the amounts of contraband involved likewise. Perhaps a few ounces of pot, or grams of powder, or a few dozen pills.
