Outages for Bank of America's online customers
Source: AP

Tuesday, March 01, 2011, 5:12 PM

NEW YORK -- Customers of Bank of America are again having problems accessing their accounts online.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company says the outages began Monday and started again Tuesday around 1:30 p.m.

Tara Burke, a company spokeswoman, said the outages were the result of system upgrades over the weekend. She declined to say whether the company had anticipated that the upgrades would result in outages. But she said that no customer information was compromised and that the problems were not the result of hacking.

"We hope to have it restored as quickly as possible," Burke said.

3. Bastards
I'll bet they'll try to charge late fees for the people who couldn't pay while their stupid system was down. And they want customers to sign up for "paperless statements". Yeah right, I'm really going to trust that their system will not go down when I critically need it. Better to stick with their god damn paper statements. Motherfucking cheap skate freeloading rich fucks.

Excuse me, I had to get that off my chest apparently.

It's the old customer service lie we were forced to tell customers.

6. bail on B of A!
I've moved from B of A to my local friendly credit union. You should too!

They're still not exactly liberal, but at least I don't have to be completely schizophrenic to use their services.

9. When I first read the headline to the thread I thought they might have
had a hand in this. As a side note, wasn't Wikileaks supposed to be releasing some damning info about a major bank in 2011? It is now March 2011, but who's counting...

I read a while back the leaked data is unclear, confusing, highly technical and may not be of great public interest anyway.

My view is that they can't be expected to score a home run with every batch of leaks. However, because of pressures on the organization earlier, they may have over-hyped this haul of documents a while back, before they knew what they were dealing with.
