The Hill.comFormer Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) will be Hollywood’s leading man in Washington, taking the most prestigious job on K Street.
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) named Dodd chairman and CEO on Tuesday. He will start his new job on St. Patrick's Day, March 17.
But heading Hollywood’s lobbying arm could be problematic for the former senator, who accepted the kind of job he pledged not to take.
“No lobbying, no lobbying,” Dodd told the Connecticut Mirror last August, when asked about his plans after leaving office.

Dodd comes from a prestigious, wealthy background. He'd spent 30 years in the Senate. Then there was his nasty connection with Countrywide. Can't this man just retire like any commoner? He could rest or do some good in the world. Or is Dodd's new gig about collecting millions for favors already done?
The more I think about former President Jimmy Carter, the more I like and respect him. Despite an occasional mistake Carter would make he never has been out for all he could get.
