Fully loaded LI man who shot EMT had arsenal
Source: New York Post

The crazed gunman who shot an EMT after an accident on Long Island was armed to the teeth with six assault weapons -- and hellbent on carrying out mass murder shortly after having a blowup with his wife, sources told The Post yesterday.

Beller -- son of well-to-do Manhattan oral surgeon David Beller -- was armed with a cache of guns and wore a bandoleer of bullets, cops said. In addition to the AK-47 clone equipped with a green laser sight, he had a Tec-9 semiautomatic, a .357 Magnum, a .32-caliber handgun and two other rifles.

1. Good thing this maniac left his PIP-Boy3000 at home.
Man, I hope I don't get flamed for that one.
Thank God no one got killed except for him. Best wishes for the EMT guy's swift recovery. Apparently he's already posting again on Facebook.

3. Suicide by cop
Sounds like suicide by cop to me.

Article with video:

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2011/03/02/2011-03-02_motorist_who_shot_long_island_paramedic_carried_aresenal_of_guns_and_prepped_for.html

dispatch call of the actual event:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKzl0hFAvUA&feature=youtube_gdata_player

The article in the original post is riddled with inaccuracies and contradictions. An SKS and an AK-47 are two different rifles. The two pistols are not assault weapons.

And of course it's worth mentioning that the guy had a past criminal history, writing bad checks in Florida, and alcohol was involved.

4. it's also worth mentioning that
the NRA would like guys like this to be able to purchase firearms. "To be absolutely clear, the NRA believes it is both constitutional and appropriate to disarm convicted felons,” NRA Director of Federal Affairs Chuck Cunningham wrote in a letter of support for the bill. “However, we also believe that no person should lose the right to arms due to convictions for minor, non-violent crimes, especially those that occurred many years in the past.” http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/ammunition/2009/05/second-amendment-restoration-act-re-introduced

7. He shoulda' have had his right to keep and bare arms stifled because he bounced a check
wooda' prevented this whole mess if everyone was considered a criminal until they proved they ain't!

9. I agree with that.
I agree that you should not loose your constitutional right to bear arms, or to vote, or any other such right over some petty offense. And in fact, only certain crimes can get your constitutional right to keep and bear arms revoked.

I only pointed out this person's criminal history because most people who commit homicide with firearms have extensive past criminal histories including, on average, four felonies.

I would not be surprised if this guy had a more extensive criminal history than just writing bad checks.

I think you'll find the NRA agrees with most, if not all of this.

34. They help Democrats get elected.
Who cares they suck

So, I guess you can't tell me which parts of the US code that defines persons prohibited from owning firearms that the NRA disagrees with?

Also, the NRA helps pro-firearm Democrats get elected. Does that suck, too?

29. that can't really be the case,
the NRA can't agree with "most, if not all of this", as you stated because here's what they say: "To be absolutely clear, the NRA believes it is both constitutional and appropriate to disarm convicted felons,” NRA Director of Federal Affairs Chuck Cunningham wrote in a letter of support for the bill. “However, we also believe that no person should lose the right to arms due to convictions for minor, non-violent crimes, especially those that occurred many years in the past.” http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/ammunition/2009/05/...

18. Think poop, not rules.
In the 18th century, "well-regulated" meant regulated like your colon, not regulated like with rules.

Additionally, I don't see anything that links this shooter to the NRA.

that's a secret.

Guns only exist to kill innocent people, they serve no other purpose.

So if you see someone with a gun, call the cops and they will come and disarm them with their assault-pillows.
