Mayor Bloomberg booed at St. Patrick's Day Parade in Queens for perceived attack on union workers
Source: NY Daily News

Irish eyes were not smiling at Mayor Bloomberg.

Hizzoner was roundly booed as he marched in the first St. Patrick's Day Parade of the season in Queens Saturday, drawing jeers for his perceived attacks on union workers.

Walking through the blue-collar neighborhoods of the Rockaways, home to scores of city workers, Bloomberg was loudly heckled for his plans to lay off teachers and slash pensions .

"The classrooms are already overcrowded and now he wants to lay off thousands of teachers?" asked Jeanne O'Leary, who has been teaching at nearby Public School 104 for 10 years.

5. There is no way that New York, home of Wall Street brokers, can
claim it is broke. No way. If New York City is broke, it is only because of an unwillingness to tax the uber-wealthy who work and live in it.

7. Hizzoner = New York City slang for "His Honor"
So he is right in the neighborhood of the people who work for his city - definitely not the Hamptons, but rather the blue-collar Rockaway neighborhood - and has he understood that the union workers are NOT the elites?
