Libyan leader says UN or AU should launch an investigation into unrest rocking his country.
Last Modified: 06 Mar 2011 04:06 GMT

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has called for an international investigation into the unrest rocking his country, as forces loyal to him fight hard to hold on to their territory.

In an interview released on Sunday with the French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, Gaddafi said he wants the United Nations or the African Union to investigate the violence.

"First of all I would like that an investigatory commission of the United Nations or the African Union comes here to Libya," he said. "We will let this panel work unhampered."

Gaddafi said he would be in favour of France "co-ordinating and leading" the investigation.

1. What's next--'Gaddafi demands AQ-Nescafe investigation'?
Oh, there's an investigation alright. But it's being conducted by the International Criminal Court, and it's directed at Gaddafi and his thugs. Perhaps after delving into atrocities and bringing war criminals to justice international authorities can entertain other suggestions.

3. Before Big Oil convinced Bushco to become Gaddafi's BFF, this would have
never been possible. Another fucking mess compliments of that administration.

6. Of course! Why trouble them with having to leave their hotel?
Their minders will see to their every need, and will even bring citizen eyewitnesses to the hotel to be interviewed by the U.N. team (strictly for their convenience).

5. "unhampered"?
LOL!

It's Libya.
