Two US soldiers and US civilians missing after attack on Iraq convoy: report

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Two US soldiers and several US civilians were missing following a raid by Iraqi insurgents on a fuel convoy west of Baghad. A senior Pentagon official was quoted as saying that it was not immediately known if the missing Americans had been captured and that a search had been launched, CNN television reported.

US Central Command announced earlier that a member of the 13th Corps Support Command had been killed and 12 wounded in an attack on their convoy near Baghdad International Airport. It was not known if the missing men were in the same incident. The State Department said it had no information on missing Americans in Iraq, but it was looking into the reports.
