5. Any parent knows the Terrible Two's stage involves "acting out".
This scheme is downright creepy.
And who authorized the state to "examine EVERY child "....

Shudder.

6. I saw something on this a week or two ago elsewhere.
It's not quite as bad as you're making out, nor is it particularly new, except insofar as this study quantifies what any decent child carer knows quite well.

Kids who freeze and look for the threat when startled by a sharp command rarely grow up to be trouble makers. It's the ones who keep barrelling along until physically scruffed that tend to become problem children in school and are considerably more likely to grow up to become less pleasant people in adulthood unless taught to find the "percentage" in being nicer. And if not actively taught, they "figure it out for themselves" or take their cues from those around them, to behave in whatever way works for survival or improving one's lot in life.

It also helps explain why so called "ciminallity" clusters in families and communities. And why different types of criminality characterise different social classes and/or regions.

If criminality can be learned then why the hell not responsibity?

10. They should go to the next step and sterilize them so they won't reproduce!
No reason to do things half-assed, right?

Meanwhile, make a plan to go through grade schools, middle, high schools, determine which ones are anti-social, sterilize THEM immediately. Might not be a bad idea to simply whisk them off to prison farms where they can learn a trade and make low-cost items for major retail stores to sell. Save the society the problems they MIGHT cause if left to their own devices.

Preventative social cleanliness.

13. Has anyone actually read the article?
I'll put this as simply and as insultingly as possible hoping people actually read what I say

There are several indicators, seen in infants, for poor social behaviour in adolescents (that means teens) and adults, this is known.

Now before anyone jumps down my throat the word is indicators and that means "pointers" or "signals" it does not mean any specific child will automatically become a raging serial killer.

What is being tried here is to ameliorate (that means make better) the effect of the conditions that help push a child into poor social behaviour.

To identify the children at risk the social services are using these pointers to help parents and child.

By this method Social Services hope to avoid the child getting into trouble when they grow up.

In 10 to 12 years the effectiveness of this guided intervention can be properly assessed. I hope it works because dealing with an anti-social teen is hugely expensive and the damage to other people and the community is terrible.

They are not going to put the kids into prison automatically,
They are not going to fit tracking devices to the children,
They are not going to replace the child's brain with an Intel Chip whilst pouring the liquidised grey matter down the throats of our ever hungry Royal Family. That last only happens to prospective Tory MPs

not only does no one read the article but somehow, this must be Obama's fault.

16. Du'ers tend to love Science unless it conflicts with their preconceived bias
I'll never forget someone posted a thread about the threats of nicotine residue left in the environment by smokers.

Almost every poster derided the notion such a thing could actually happen.

21. Your link isn't working for me.
The thing is, even if you could demonstrate that test results at age two could indicate that a child is more likely to become a criminal, you would still need to make sure ALL children are properly socialized since the test could never be a "perfect" predictor. Yes, some children may take more effort to raise into responsible adults, but all children require effort and attention.
