BERLIN (AFP) - Two German government security workers have been missing in Iraq (news - web sites) for several days, the German foreign ministry told AFP.

"Two civil servants working for the German mission in Baghdad have been missing for the past few days," a ministry spokeswowan said Saturday, confirming earlier television reports.

"There is no evidence to suggest it is a hostage-taking."

2. "government security workers"
The two men are members of the elite federal police squad GSG-9, they are the German Uber-SWAT.

German internet magazines are reporting that German TV is reporting that they have been taken hostage(I 'm probably a few thousand miles from the next chance to watch that channel, so I can't really comment.)
