Costa Mesa city employee jumps to death at City Hall

COSTA MESA, CA — Not long after the city began issuing layoff notices, a 29-year-old city maintenance worker jumped off the southeast corner of Costa Mesa City Hall and died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, police said.

The man, who had worked for the city for four and a half years, did not get his lay-off notice before he jumped, but he was going to get one.

His corpse was wrapped in a body bag late in the afternoon.

He had apparently leaped from the roof of City Hall, which is five stories tall.

It was unclear whether the victim was upset about the layoffs, which were to take place in six months if the city approves a plan to outsource more work, other factors or a combination thereof.

1. The only people that should be jumping off buildings are those from the financial sector. Of course
I don't mean all of 'em.

5. "a plan to outsource more work"
It was unclear whether the victim was upset about the layoffs, which were to take place in six months if the city approves a plan to outsource more work, other factors or a combination thereof.

Outsource: Hire people at starvation wages while billing the government the same as they were paying in the first place. The difference creates profit which:

1. Gives the CEO millions of taxpayer dollars that should have gone into the workers' pockets; and,

2. Insures a steady stream of bribes "campaign contributions" to the corrupt government officials.
