6 Americans killed in Iraq as violence presses on
AL-FALLUJAH, Iraq -- One year after U.S. Marines toppled a statue of Saddam Hussein in a central Baghdad square, fighting raged across Iraq on Friday, claiming six U.S. lives in fierce gunbattles and ambushes.

At least one Marine died in Al-Fallujah after U.S. commanders declared a cease-fire at noon. By midnight, fighting appeared to have resumed in earnest, with loud explosions and heavy machine-gun fire audible from several miles away. Tracer bullets could be seen in the distance.

The deaths of five additional Americans were reported as violence spread in Iraq.

1. I hope Brig Gen Kimmitt "aspirates" on his own crap!
A U.S. general today called on Sunni militants in Al-Fallujah to join in a bilateral cease-fire.

``Today what we are seeking is a bilateral cease-fire,'' Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt told reporters in Baghdad. ``This is an aspiration.''

2. Good grief.
The First Armored Division from Ft. Riley, Kansas was on its way home, and was turned back to return to Iraq.

God, they must be so sick.

Ft. Riley lost a bunch just last week, around 7 on one of the first days of heavy fighting.

3. They took helos out of the shrink-wrap
It was either CNN or BBC reported that troops had been in Kuwait awaiting deployment home when they were returned to Iraq. Their helicopters had already been shrink-wrapped for the journey home. How awful for the soldiers and their familes!

5. Please tell me you are joking...
These people are truely insane if they think Chalabi will last a NY minute in any position in their "government". His days are numbered as well as all of the other US puppets.

I didn't catch his name. Perhaps you can archive the transcripts from this morning journals.
