Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught in Tripoli reports that a series of loud explosions have been heard coming from west of the capital. It is unclear what has caused them.

3. On March 2nd they reported the same. It turned out it was a truck explosion

4. Attacks on anti-aircraft positions?
You can't enforce a no fly-zone on someone who can shoot down your combat air patrol...destruction of defense positions is a very early step in gaining control of the airspace.
