State unemployment benefits in the crosshairs
Source: CNNMoney.com

The jobless may soon find their state unemployment check is not in the mail.

A growing number of states are looking to cut back on jobless benefits to minimize the increase in unemployment taxes businesses pay. State officials are concerned that these tax hikes could deter companies from hiring.

Some states, such as Florida and Arkansas, are debating reducing the number of weeks that the jobless can collect state unemployment. Others, including Indiana, want to limit the number of people eligible for benefits.

2. More GOP cruelty.
Give millions to the rich campaign donors. Financed by taking millions from the poorest most needy.

They want everyone who may have voted Democratic to be too depressed to vote in 2012.

.. Unemployment insurance is (for the most part) a thing of the past.

Next up: Social Security, Public Schools and Medicare.

13. 2012 will be after the results of 2010 Republicon wins have become known.
Everyone wants tax cuts--that don't hurt them or theirs.

Union busting, education cuts, unemployment cuts, possibe OASDI and medicare (even Obama's fuel subsidy cuts)--a pretty wide swath hurting everyone from their kids to their great grandmas.

like looters grabbing whatever they can while the power is off. They know the lights will be on soon, and in the light of day and under scrutiny, looters often get shot.

In a very weird way, this behavior from the Publicans is comforting, because one can easily see that they know they're on borrowed time.
