Missing Connecticut Girl Isabella Oleschuk Found Alive
Source: ABC

Isabella Oleschuk, the 13-year-old girl missing since Sunday, was found alive this morning with a friend and church bells in the Connecticut town rang out to celebrate the news.

"I am thrilled to be able to announce to you that she has been found and she is safe," Orange Police Chief Robert Gagne said at a press conference. "I have just gotten word of this so I don't have any details... She did leave home and she was with a friend and she is ok."

Police and a medical crew were in route to check on the health of the girl and church bells in the town peeled to in the wake of the joyful news.

"Our prayers have been answered," Annette Rubelman, a friend of the family, said through tears of joy. "We haven't been able to do anything."

3. I hope they get the problem solved. If it was about bullying - it's not over yet.
Glad she was found and is safe.

8. Bullying a 13 year old kid because she wore a hearing aid. That is just sick.
I'm very mad at the school. Surely, more could have been done to prevent things from getting so bad for Isabella. That poor child huddled in a barn for 3 days in cold weather. Her parents must have nearly gone out of their minds with fear for her...

9. That happened to my
youngest. The doc who was fitting her for her first hearing aid at age 9, told her she would probably want a small one because boys didn't date girls with hearing aids. Then, at 15, a boyfriend dropped her for that reason. There a a lot of cruel idiots in the world.

I am so glad this child was found alive. What a horrible ordeal for her an dher parents.

10. I've since learned that their wasn't any bullying but that she was fearful of
the CT Mastery tests coming up. We had false information early on and that's been cleared up.

It does seem strange that a kid would run away just because of a test, though. I dreaded and feared testing in algebra, which I just couldn't understand. I had tutoring and was still confused. But I never considered running away. I wish Isabella had been able to talk it over with her parents and come to some peace with it...
