1. We shouldn't be importing any food...
Edited on Wed Mar-23-11 10:14 PM by CoffeeCat
...from Japan right now! Until we know the facts, why would anyone
eat anything from Japan?

Does anyone here feel that they clearly understand the radiation situation in Japan; and is anyone
certain that they know the radiation levels throughout the country?

I don't think we know enough to say that it's safe enough to import any food
from Japan!

The people telling us that there is no problem, are the same powers-that-be who told
us to nosh on Gulf seafood--because Corexit and oil were no big deal, right?

2. the whole country? seriously?
yes, there are a handful of prefectures that have potential problems, but the majority of japan is unaffected by the radiation. keep in mind that japan is hundreds of miles long. there's plenty of food being produced in the west of japan, places that will never get touched by anything coming from fukushima. even hokkaido to the north seems to be untouched by radiation.

3. What about all the planes to and from Japan
Edited on Thu Mar-24-11 12:09 AM by TatonkaJames
not to mention products. All the fire equipment helicopters, etc? But what's the sense, the radiation is reported going into the sea constantly and over a decade should pretty much be in al the marine life.
