Raids across San Fernando Valley yield thousands of marijuana plants

Officials from the FBI, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Los Angeles Police Department seized thousands of marijuana plants while serving search warrants across the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday.

Officials released no details, but law enforcement sources said six warehouses and residences were searched for evidence of marijuana cultivation and other criminal activity. Thousands of pot plants were confiscated, the sources said.

It was not immediately clear whether arrests were made, but dozens of law enforcement officers were involved in the operation.

The searches occurred in communities including Palmdale, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Canoga Park, Van Nuys.

15. I grew small personal amounts when even that would have had horrible consequences.
I've nearly had a heart attack when my neighbor was being busted, and they came to my place. Just feet away from my grow room.

Furthermore, when I was looking at land, I remember one of the first places I saw (yes, remote) was actually being raided while I was there. One dead Mexican worker. These Mexican guys come up here, and do the hard work for the growers. I may be about to get a property because someone is unhappy with what they call the Mexican Mafia up here.

It's like trying to stop people from having emotions. Only a conservative mindset would even attempt such folly. It's not about stopping drugs. It's about a bunch of other stuff. But people are so busy living their lives, and not caring about a forfeited house here, and a dead Mexican there, that it just continues. But now we're a second rate country. And I imagine the stupidity may have to slow down. They can't put half the country behind bars.

omfg - what will it take to just leave this plant and the people who either need or enjoy it alone? will we forever be at war with our own people just for smoking pot? looks that way. :(

12. K&R
Now, now, now you all are being too hard on the poor guy. All he wants is for people to like him, okay? And so you see, taking a position on something like wars, or torturing your enemies or kidnapping a few citizens here and there who are totally bad to begin with, or drugs and stuff is just so haaaaaard! Geeze!!!

You people just don't know what it's like to be President of The Most Exceptional Country Ever On The Planet And In The History Of Mankind and to be forced to have to stand for things. Ya know? Anyway, I think Obama's position on the decriminalization of marijuana is perfectly clear:

- When he says he's for it, it's for the votes and when he says he ain't for it, it's for the BIG PHARMA money. See, simple.......

*** - Remember: Obama in 2012 or you could end up with a President Romney Pawlenty Palin Gringrich (insert the name of any of those stupid Republicans they've got here).

17. See Fernando

I wear a ponytail like a waterfall
Loudspeaker or land slide
I have a room key and a Johnny
A good buzz, feeling all right
Pitch a tent, pop a top
Forget about what you ain't got
See the sites, sleep until night
Stamp your feet, turn out the lights

If you want to go where they chain up the sun
See Fernando, see Fernando
He'll buy a bottle of suds for you and everyone
See Fernando, see Fernando

If you're high strung or stressed out
Down in the dumps, been turned out
Stabilized, motorized, insecure or fableized
Curious or furious, picked apart like Prometheus
Legalized, penalized, simplify, dry out your eyes

If you want to go where they chain up the sun
See Fernando, see Fernando
He'll buy a bottle of suds for you and everyone
See Fernando, see Fernando

You've been Jezebeled, back from hell
Cooling off, feeling well
Tired of talking, talked out
Ticked off or toughed up
Too talled or backed up
Haven't made your mind up
tbd'd or tb'd
Tired of falling to your knees

If you want to go where they chain up the sun
See Fernando, see Fernando
He'll buy a bottle of suds for you and everyone
See Fernando, see Fernando

And if you want to go where they chain up the sun

Not only was the statement made by the Cancer Institute re worded after it was originally posted just a few days ago..
The Feds and DEA are in Southern California Raiding Grows for Medical Cannabis Collectives with sealed warrants..
This is another tactic by this Government to put the squeeze on any thoughts that it will legalize Cannabis and its use...
Fact is that the DEA is as Large as the IRS with most of its focus and manpower on Cannabis Control..
If most Law Enforcement all over America did not have Cannabis and the People associated to go after?
What do you think they could focus more efforts and money doing????
This is Insane and been that way for so many years..

cut and dry, as if that's all it takes - Once the fucking Feds find you out they are going to bleed you dry any money or property they can get their hands on, they will try to take EVERYTHING you own - It'll cost you big bucks in lawyers fees and that's no guarantee - Whether it has anything to do with growing or not - Local Drug Task forces are no picnic, but if they decide to call in the Feds on you - YOU'RE FUCKED!

21. I need no other issue to be fed up with Obama.
Unfortunately for me, I HAVE other problems with Obama's decision-making, but his actions in this one area are sufficient to convince me that he is not on the side of rationality or justice or freedom. In other words, he is not on my side, so why should I be on his?

22. fuck the feds, we will just grow on federal lands
cut down trees in yosemite and the national forests and set up grow ops. each greenhouse plant killed will be replaced out in the national forests and parks.

Has anyone here ever gone more than 3 days without being able to buy a bag of weed? Never i my life have i had that problem, never. At worst you drive down to 'the hood'.

way to go feds, keep pot illegal and help your buddies in the gangs and mafias.

these greenhouse growers were likely not gangs, but the gangs do a bang up job growing out in the national forests and parks.

i am gonna go plant my seeds today but in the country i live in growing 5 plants wont get more than a lecturing from the judge.

a highly toxic process with deadly by-products -- all over California would like to thank Obama for the DEA distraction. This is a warning shot to California from the administration as there will be another ballot measure to legalize marijuana again.

32. All the money spent funding the DEA
could better be put to use going after environmental polluters, meth labs and white supremacist groups, they are the real domestic threat. So much wasted money going down the tubes.
