Source: WKTB.COM

LA CROSSE, Wis. - La Crosse democrats have filed the first petition to recall one of the 19 targeted Wisconsin senators .

Volunteers from the Committee to Recall Senator Dan Kapanke traveled to Madison Friday and hand delivered the signatures.

Area democrats say they collected well over the 15,588 signatures required to recall Sen. Kapanke.

The committee working to recall the senator had 60 days to collect enough signatures. They say they've collected more than that in less than 30 days.

A rally outside of La Crosse City Hall Friday sent a group of recall volunteers on their way

2. I was there at city hall. Here's some video and Kapanke's response on local news.
The energy was fabulous. There were several media outlets covering it.

3. So who is securing these signatures ?
Couldn't the Walker Falkers all of a sudden misplace about half of them ?

9. I doubt it.
Here is some information about Wisconsin's Government Accountability Board and the recalls:

http://gab.wi.gov/elections-voting/recall

The State Board of Elections in Illinois operates in much the same way. They provide a lot of information. They make sure the state law is followed. They make sure anyone raising money for state and local candidates files the proper information. They make sure the information is available to the public. They are civil servants who do their jobs, no matter who is in office. They help the election authority at each level to be sure elections are clean.

The petitions are filed with these people. They won't lose them.

7. Recall election.
Not just for him, but for the other Republican state senators they've managed to secure enough signatures for. All we need is to flip three seats to have the majority, and we already have enough signatures to recall Hopper, Kapanke, and likely Darling, three of the most vulnerable, who won their districts by a mere handful of votes.
