Moussa Koussa's departure to Doha angers Lockerbie campaigners
Source: The Guardian

Libya's most high profile defector, foreign minister Moussa Koussa, flew out of the UK on Tuesday to take part in a critical peace conference amid anger from Lockerbie campaigners and accusations of "betrayal" levelled at the British government.

Koussa made his surprise departure to Doha after the Foreign Office said he was "a free individual, who can travel to and from the UK as he wishes".

He was expected to "offer insights" in advance of the conference on Libya in the Qatari capital, being held with representatives from the Benghazi-based opposition. The UN, Arab League and EU will all be represented, as will France, Italy, Germany, Turkey and others.

But families of the victims of the Lockerbie bombing accused the British government of "betrayal" for allowing the former minister to leave the country.

1. So is Koussa to become the wests "annointed" puppet? Starting to sound that way.
All I can say to that is "good luck with that you bumbling fools".

2. Not a chance
The Libyan revolutionaries want him to face trial, and he still faces the prospect of prosecution by the International Criminal Court.

Koussa is only getting attention here because, having long and close ties to Gaddafi, he is thought to be someone who might be able to influence Gaddafi toward a political solution. That's his only value; apart from that, no one trusts him.

3. No, the preferred Saudi/NATO puppet is Mustafa Abdul Jalil
the self-styled leader of the self-styled National Transition Council. This Qadhdhafi stooge (former Justice Minister) and a few other exiles hijacked the revolutionary movement early on and have quite adeptly prostrated themselves before the West & Saudi Arabia to ensure the all-important business-as-usual. Kusa is just some former (former?) Qadhdhafi terrorist who sensed what way the wind was blowing and hoped to sneak in under the radar; he'll probably have a place in the new "democracy" if he can serve Western business well.
