'Prince of Pot' denied transfer to Canadian prison
Source: The Canadian Press

Jailed Canadian marijuana advocate Marc Emery has been denied a transfer to Canada from a U.S. federal prison where he's serving a five-year sentence for selling marijuana seeds to Americans through the mail.

Emery, of Vancouver, the self-described Prince of Pot, was extradited to the U.S. last year where he pleaded guilty and began serving his sentence, but he was eligible to apply for a transfer to a Canadian prison to serve out his term.

Emery was told his request for a transfer was rejected on the basis of the seriousness of the offence and because of U.S. law enforcement concerns, his wife, Jodie Emery, said Friday.

5. there is nothing serious about this offense
what is offensive is this continued attack on a plant by hysterical charlatans who make money off of oppressing others.

the history of cannabis prohibition in the U.S. is the history of the corruption of power.

altogether. too many people have been hurt for too long for NO GOOD FUCKING REASON AT ALL. all because of some racist 1937 law! what is wrong with people?

many people are one issue voters - like on a woman's right to choose. but with no end EVEN IN FUCKING SIGHT for this war on marijuana - much less war on drugs - i just can not participate in any kind of political process that thinks this is ok to treat pot smokers this way! my vote goes to the LEGALIZATION candidate. even if i have to write in willie nelson or snoop dogg! argh!!!! :banghead:

FREE MARC EMORY!!!!!

14. Isn't that a sad commentary on our times - that we can't openly stand up for what we believe in
Edited on Sat Apr-16-11 06:54 AM by slay
on sites like facebook (our OWN pages no less) or risk our jobs - crazy drama - who knows what. it's fucked up.

i think facebook makes people more conservative - if not in reality, at least in their online/facebook lives - you never know who you might offend so you have to err towards the heavily conservative side. i had to quit facebook because of that freakish phenomenon. i couldn't be the real me. (never was really - not like i actually signed up under my real name.. lol)

16. How does this work?
Does the US get reimbursed from CN for the monthly incarceration expenses or is the American Tax Payer footing the bill? It's roughly $3000,00 per month, per prisoner for rm/bd.

Lets call and find out? They are so worried about waste and fraud? Lets dunp the War against the American peopole!

The total WoD's annual bill is roughly $70-$85 Billion.
I understand dick cheney supports and is heavily invested in privatisation Industrial Prison Complex.

Marc was targeted by the head of the DEA under Bush because he was insulted at a convention he was attending.. Marc and several others had seats right at the front and heckled the DEA head.. The fight to go after Marc was ON....
Marc sold seeds many years ago and even shipped to the U.S...
When charges were filed.. It had been over ten year since Marc had sold any seeds to Americans what so ever..
Marcs arrest and conviction was Political motivated because Marc is the Leader of the marijuana Party in Canada.

Hang tough Marc as you are a true Hero in my eyes...

I invite all of you to his Forum and Web site..
