Dunn County (WQOW) - A committee is ready to take the next step as it tries to recall a western Wisconsin lawmaker.

The Committee to Recall Sheila Harsdorf says it will file about 20,000 petitions Tuesday. That's about 4,000 more than they would need.

Statewide, recall organizers are going after eight republicans and eight democrats for their support or opposition to the budget repair bill, which targeted collective bargaining. So far, organizers have filed signatures to recall three senators. Harsdorf would be the fourth. She represents the 10th Senate District as a republican. She has 10 days to challenge the petition. The Government Accountability Board has one month to verify the signatures.

If they are verified, an election can be scheduled six weeks from then. WQOW News 18 spoke with a recall organizer who says they have no idea who would end up on the ballot against Senator Harsdorf if it goes to the voters

7. They must mean petition as 'formal request' rather than
how we normally use the word - I agree though, it's kind of oddly worded.

8. Petition to recall Wisconsin GOP Sen. Sheila Harsdorf to be filed Tuesday
Source: The Pioneer Press Twin CIties

More than enough signatures have been collected in an effort to recall Republican Wisconsin state Sen. Sheila Harsdorf, organizers announced Monday.

Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesman Graeme Zielinski said a petition will be filed with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board on Tuesday. While he didn't have a total signature count Monday afternoon — signatures were still coming in — Zielinski said the number is well over the 15,744 needed.

"It really was a grassroots effort by home-grown volunteers who were fed up with Sheila Harsdorf and her unholy alliance with Gov. Scott Walker," Zielinski said of the petition. "This is an amazing feat."

The Committee to Recall Harsdorf started March 2 in response to Harsdorf's support of Walker's budget repair bill, which would eliminate many collective bargaining powers for public employees

We got Olsen today as well. Darling isn't far behind. All eight will face a recall. Not optimistic about Grothman or Lazich losing their seats, but I think we have good chances with the other six.

14. I want to take this opportunity to
let you know how much I respect the determined citizens of Wisconsin. Their dedication to the cause has not faltered in the last seven weeks. You have been creative in your protests; demonstrated to the country it is all ages, all professions, all trades joining this effort. I salute you one and all. I sincerely hope what is happening in Wisconsin becomes a virus infecting the entire country.

My grandfather's family was from Wisconsin. We visited my mother's cousins on many vacations to the Dells and other beautiful places. I always loved our vacations there. One of the very best memories I carry is the lovely, delicate taste of a young brick cheese. I found an online supplier a few years ago. This year, to my disappointment, the website was only informational. You wouldn't happen to know where I can find it, would you?

15. Excellent news.
4 down 4 to go and then the actual election activities can began.

I think we ALL know IF the recall elections are held, a big if considering Walker's penchant for ignoring laws that he doesn't like, then corporations will pour money into the state at a breathtaking rate.
