HOUSTON — A Continental Airlines flight to Las Vegas with 158 passengers aboard has returned to Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport after a bird struck the aircraft shortly after takeoff.

The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday when Continental flight 697 took off from Houston's northern airport.

Continental spokeswoman Christen David said the aircraft returned as a precaution and was not damaged from the strike to the nose. No one aboard the Boeing 737-800 was injured.

2. Fortunately this plane only lost one engine.
The NY example lost almost all power from both engines.
