Idaho governor blocks federal health care reform law
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter has issued an executive order prohibiting the state from implementing the federal health care reform law.

The move Wednesday came after Otter vetoed House Bill 298, which sought to nullify the Obama administration's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or PPACA.

Despite vetoing the bill, Otter used many of its key provisions in his executive order.

The order in part says: "No executive branch department, agency, institution or employee of the state shall establish or amend any program or promulgate any rule to implement any provisions of the PPACA."

1. Using the State Government to Block Federal Laws
No sense in approving what the legislature has passed when you can step up to the plate like a real Republican man and block it yourself! What can you expect from someone named Clement Leroy "Butch" Otter?

4. Not enough for the Tea Partiers
They'll be mad that he vetoed the bill. My Tea Party-talking friend's son didn't marry the mother of his son until AFTER the baby was born because she qualified for medicaid. Never mind that he was young, had a good job, and probably could get affordable insurance. Hypocrisy galore here in Idaho.

6. That is a common dodge in most states. However, he is going to
get a surprise because if she identified him as the father on the birth certificate Child Support Collections will come after him for payment. At least they do in my state. Many a first child is without a father on paper.

5. Nice try, but that actual means the federal govt will create the enchanges instead
So by trying to repeal ACA they actually end up creating "government-run" heathcare

7. more expensive
I'm sure the citizens of Idaho will appreciate that their governor has committed their tax dollars to create a state-run system that is more expensive. On the good side, the governor's friends and campaign contributors in the health care insurance industry will be happy to share some of the largess with him. It's a win-win for both of them (sorry Idaho residents if you lose, but welcome to Republican ideological-based budgeting)
