Japan Earthquake Today: 6.3 Magnitude Temblor Hits Off Coast

TOKYO, April 21 (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 hit eastern Japan on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Japan's Meteorological Agency said no tsunami warning was issued. The epicentre of the earthquake, which shook buildings in Tokyo, was at Chiba prefecture, near the coast east of the capital, the agency added.

2. Is this another after shock? From what I understand these will go on for

months, and the magnitude of them will be high because of the 9.0 original quake.
