BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho attorney who spent his career representing white supremacists and other unpopular defendants will stand trial himself on Tuesday, charged with trying to hire a hit man to kill his wife and mother-in-law.

Just did some reading on this. The prosecution claims to have audio of Steele discussing the plot with the hit man. The target of the murder attempt (his wife) has come out in his defense.

Steele wrote a book called Defensive Racism which has glowing reviews on various (WARNING) extremely offensive white nationalist sites; here's an example:
