No review in Teena Brandon case
Source: Omaha World Herald

By Juan Perez Jr.

A federal judge on Monday refused to reconsider his dismissal of the latest appeal filed by Nebraska death row inmate John Lotter, who was convicted in the triple murder that inspired the 1999 film “Boys Don't Cry.”

U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf issued an order Monday denying Lotter's request to revisit the case. Kopf first dismissed the appeal last month, saying the case was sufficiently scrutinized by the Nebraska courts and a federal review wasn't warranted.

Messages left Monday with Lotter's attorneys weren't immediately returned.

Lotter was convicted in the 1993 slayings of Teena Brandon and two others in a farmhouse near Humboldt.

1. I am against the death penalty, but this guy...
...if any of you have ever seen The Teena Brandon story or Boys Don't Cry - you know what a horrible homophobic person this John Lotter is. And a murderer.

2. I have no problem with this.
I'd prefer he served life, but he's a piece of shit if even half of what I've read is true.

Good riddance.

3. name should be actually Brandon Teena
and good on the judge for rejecting the appeal. that's the problem with the death penalty cases, the executions can be stalled because the inmates are entitled to years of appeals aren't they?
