Gulf of California Hit By Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake

Off the coast of Baja California, Mexico on Tuesday a magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck at around 2:10 p.m. in the Gulf of California, 45 miles east of Santa Rosalia and 54 miles southwest of Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico at a depth of 9.4 miles at the epicenter.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the temblor was felt in and around the town of Guaymas.
