Hundreds of Air India pilots strike over pay

About 800 pilots who used to work for Indian Airlines but now work for Air India have gone on strike to demand parity of pay and better conditions.

Their industrial action has led to the cancellation of at least 20 flights and delays to many others.

The striking pilots say they are being victimised because their Air India colleagues earn up to 200,000 rupees ($4,500) more a month than them.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday ordered the strikers to return to work.
